Okay, I have a gross random question/looking for your opinion...?
My MIL watches our babies (2.5 years and 7 months) part time while I am at work. Well, when she feeds my youngest oatmeal or anything on a spoon, she first licks the bottom of the spoon and then feeds my baby. She does this for almost every bite! I think she is trying to get the stuff off the bottom of the spoon so it doesn't drip on the baby. It totally grosses me out! I know that the bacteria from an adult mouth is different than that of an infant. I was told that you should never "clean" a pacifier with your mouth and then put it into your babies mouth, because of bacteria. This is no different! How do I tell her not to do this anymore. I don't want to hurt her feelings or anything. She watches them for free so I don't really want to be nit-picky. If I was paying a babysitter then this wouldn't be a question...but just b/c she watches for free doesn't mean that she does whatever she wants...Do I say something? How? What?
I would say "you shouldn't do that." "You never know when you are coming down with something." "You know you are contagious before you even show symptoms of an illness."
I think that is really gross. This is your baby and you have every right to tell her to stop.
