fathers and teen daughters?
I don't know if maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but tonight my husband started talking to my daughter about her period and pads. I was absolutely horrified! To be fair, I never had a father so it could be just me hence this question: Should dads talk to their teen daughters specifically about their pubescent bodies and such, or should the mother or another trusted same-sex adult shoulder the heaviest weight of that responsibility? Did your dads talk to you about your period? If so, how did it feel?
Any thoughts?
That totally depends on your situation.. I was never close with my dad.. So it would have been weird, but there are males I can talk to about that sort of thing. If your husband knows what he is talking about and your daughter is comfortable, let him join in the convorsation... When I was a teen I wanted nothing to do with my father, so be happy they can bond!
