should i play slot or receiver?
at football practice, ive gone to the slot practices. this is my first time playing football, and i dont know much about the sport. i have no clue what the coach is talking about and i just copy the other more experienced guys. my skills arent bad, but my comprehension is. ive watched the wide receivers. their practices seem similar, and im thinking about givibg it a try. but now, i just want to play the less technical position with less to memorise and stuff.
It's true that you need to know what your doing or you'll never get to play. The thing that makes it difficult is that your coaches have a whole different set of terminology than other coaches and what you'll see on tv. I would suggests that you go to your coaches and tell them that this is your first year and that your not familiar with some of the jargon/terms that they are using.
You'd be better off learning then least technical position and getting it down this year, while working on your skills, then next year worry about Flanker, Split end etc.
