White Orange
My old wires are blue, blue and white, orange, orange and white, green, green and white. what color combo?
do i use to hook these up to a phone jack?
The white/blue wire goes to green, the blue wire to red and the white/orange to black and the orange to yellow. Even in residential we usually terminate 2 pairs. If you're into punishment and for reference the white/green goes to white and the green goes to blue in a 6-wire RJ-25 arrangement.
Since we normally work in a business environment we usually only terminate 2 pairs per jack, saving the green and brown pairs as a spare so we can add another 2-pair jack on the same cable.
In networking, all pairs get terminated in a 4-pair cable on an 8-pin jack, but those jacks are marked with the paired color code according to its use.
